Abstract: When looking at it from the outside, the topic of goal setting can all too frequently seem like a straightforward, no-questions-asked, “plug-and-chug” kind of ordeal – come up with a goal, break it apart into manageable steps, then work through the process of execution one step at a time. While all of that is, in basic essence, how goal setting and execution work, many people fail at the very first step: coming up with a real, attainable goal that they actually want to accomplish AND actually have the power and means available to accomplish at the time of setting the goal. Today’s webinar will focus on the ecology of goal setting – what it means to set the correct goals at the correct times in ours lives to optimize personal growth, success, and wellbeing. The focus of this webinar is based more on how goals can and do affect various aspects of a person’s life, and how to stay true to ourselves, our values, and our beliefs when setting goals. While these things will be briefly mentioned for background, the main focus of this webinar will not be on the actual step-by-step logistical processes of performance goal setting and achievement.
